Stability and Viscoelasticity of Magneto-Pickering Foams

Langmuir, 2013
We have developed a new class of bistable Pickering foams, which can remain intact for weeks at room temperature but can be destroyed rapidly and on-demand with the use of a magnetic field. Such responsive foam systems can find application in various industrial and environmental processes that require controlled defoaming. These foams are stabilized by

Study on Foaming Agent Foam Ability and Stability for Foam Concrete

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
Foam ability and stability of foaming agent are key factors for foam concrete properties. Through researching LAS, SDS and magnesite foaming agent commercially available, the results show that adding HPMC after can reduce LAS, SDS and magnesite foam bleeding quantity and subsidence distance and has little impact on foam expansion, magnesite foam ...

Stability of hydrophobic foams

Langmuir, 1986

Foam Stability. A Fundamental Investigation of the Factors Controlling the Stability of Foams

Rubber Chemistry and Technology, 1958
Abstract Although the production of foam rubber on an industrial scale has been for a considerable time a rather well-controlled process, all factors involved are still insufficiently known. The most critical phase of the manufacturing process is undoubtedly the gelation of the foam produced.

Principles of Foam Formation and Stability

1989
A foam is commonly defined as a dispersion of gas bubbles in a liquid. In a “solid foam” the liquid has changed into a gel or a solid phase after making the dispersion. The volume fraction φ of gas in a foam is mostly between 0.5 and 0.97; if φ > about 0.75, the bubbles necessarily deform one another.
