Influence of Foaming Agent Type on The Behavior of Foamed Concrete

open access: yesEngineering and Technology Journal, 2021
In this work the desired aim is to study the effect of two various sorts of a foaming agents on the properties of foamed concrete to obtain high quality with a target density is nearly 1600 kg/m3. The standard samples were designed by employing two types of foam agent (FA), the first one is commercially named (EABSSOC foam agent, FA) while the second ...

Predicting compressive strength of lightweight foamed concrete using extreme learning machine model

open access: yes, 2018
In this research, a machine learning model namely extreme learning machine (ELM) is proposed to predict the compressive strength of foamed concrete. The potential of the ELM model is validated in comparison with multivariate adaptive regression spline ...

Influence of Geometric Design on Mechanical Performance of Auxetic Metastructure

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Strategic geometric reinforcement transforms auxetic performance. This study evaluates 3D‐printed arrowhead metastructures, revealing that a modified design with local ring reinforcement suppresses premature failure to achieve superior energy absorption and structural efficiency.

Obtaining Foam Concrete Applying Stabilized Foam

open access: yesIndian Journal of Science and Technology, 2016
Objectives: The objective of this study is to obtain better quality foam concrete. In the process of preparing proteinbased foam the technique of stabilizing foam with colloidal sol solutions is used. Methods: The idea of stabilization implies the following: The interaction at the boundaries between the foam layer phase and the colloidal sol phase ...

Collision‐Resilient Winged Drones Enabled by Tensegrity Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Based on structures of birds such as the woodpeck, this article presents the collision‐resilient aerial robot, SWIFT. SWIFT leverages tensegrity structures in the fuselage and wings which allow it to undergo large deformations in a crash, without sustaining damage. Experiments show that SWIFT can reduce impact forces by 70% over conventional structures.
