The enhancement of sappanwood extract drying with foaming agent under different temperature
Sappanwood (Caesalpinia sappan Linn) contains brazilin, a natural antioxidant. It can be extracted and dried to obtain a dry extract powder. However, sappanwood extract drying is difficult due to its tendency to form a jelly-like structure, which ...

X‐Ray Tomography Analysis of Damage Mechanisms in Metal Matrix Syntactic Foams During Compression
In situ synchrotron X‐ray tomography is used to investigate the internal damage mechanisms of AlSi12 metal matrix syntactic foam with ceramic hollow spheres during compressive loading. It is concluded that a homogeneous distribution of the second‐phase filler material results in a sequential collapse in a localized region; this leads to controlled and ...

Polyetherimide foams filled with low content of graphene nanoplatelets prepared by scCO2 dissolution [PDF]
Polyetherimide (PEI) foams with graphene nanoplatelets (GnP) were prepared by supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2) dissolution. Foam precursors were prepared by melt-mixing PEI with variable amounts of ultrasonicated GnP (0.1–2.0 wt %) and foamed by one ...
