Low-Profile Folded Transmitarray Antenna With a Shared-Topology Dual-Mode Unit Cell for Sidelobe Control

open access: yesIEEE Access
Folded transmitarray antennas are an effective solution for reducing antenna profile, but the additional reflections and polarization conversions introduced by folding often distort the aperture amplitude distribution, leading to elevated sidelobe levels

Analysis of the influence of dispersion of metamaterials in a cylindrical Luneberg lens with extended focus

open access: yesФизика волновых процессов и радиотехнические системы, 2020
Cylindrical Lunebeg lenses allow azimuthal scanning in a wide sector of angles. The article discusses a cylindrical Luneberg lens with an out-of-focus parallel printed circuit boards made of thin fiberglass (FR-4) with an etched H-shaped metamaterial ...

Animal‐Assisted Activities With Therapy Dogs in Pediatric Oncology: A Multicenter Survey of the Current Status, Implementation, and Challenges in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Animal‐assisted activities (AAAs) with therapy dogs have shown positive effects on patient well‐being and quality of life in various areas of medicine, including pediatric oncology. However, research on this topic is limited. The aim of this study is to present the current status of AAA in pediatric oncology in Germany, Austria, and

Nephrogenic Rests/Nephroblastomatosis in Patients With Unilateral Wilms Tumor Are Not Associated With an Increased Risk of Relapse: An Analysis of Patients Treated on the SIOP‐WT‐2001 Protocol in the SIOP‐UK‐CCLG and SIOP‐GPOH Studies (2001–2022)

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Nephrogenic rests (NRs) and nephroblastomatosis (NBM) are precursor lesions for development of Wilms tumor (WT). Their association with the risk of relapse has not been properly assessed, partly due to misunderstanding of their diagnostic criteria and terminology.

Evaluating the Readability of Patient‐Facing Online Educational Materials for Pediatric Leukemia and Lymphoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Together, leukemia and lymphoma account for 38.7% of newly diagnosed pediatric cancer cases in the United States each year. Many caregivers utilize online resources to inform medical health decisions. Understanding the readability of these materials is critical to ensuring comprehensible patient education.

Reassessing Bone Marrow Aspirate and Trephine Biopsies in Staging for Paediatric and Young Adult Patients With Ewing Sarcoma and Rhabdomyosarcoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Ewing sarcoma (ES) and rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) are aggressive malignancies in children and adolescents where metastases impact prognosis. 18F‐fluoro‐2‐deoxy‐d‐glucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (FDG‐PET/CT) and bone marrow aspirate and trephine biopsies (BMAT) are used to identify disease involvement.

A slanted-nanoaperture metal lens: subdiffraction-limited focusing of light in the intermediate field region

open access: yesNano Convergence, 2018
Diffraction of light limits the resolution of beam focusing with conventional lenses, as dictated by the Abbe limit, that is, approximately half the wavelength. Numerous techniques have been explored to overcome this limit.
