Research on correlation between regional seismic characteristics and coal mine rockburst in Hegang
Natural earthquakes and coal mine rockbursts are both transient fracturing processes of stress release in crustal rock mass. Current research primarily investigates the correlation between earthquakes and rockbursts from either the geodynamic environment

Determination of SHmax using drilling induced fractures and focal mechanism [PDF]
Knowledge of in-situ stress is essential to well development technologies such as wellbore stability, hydraulic fracturing, well spacing design, and the monitoring of induced seismicity.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Stress inversion of earthquake focal mechanism solutions from onshore and offshore Norway
A comprehensive compilation of 112 earthquake focal mechanism solutions in Norway and adjacent areas has been completed, including 7 previously unpublished solutions for recent earthquakes determined as part of the NEONOR (Neotectonics in Norway) project.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Study on the seismic structure in the southern section of the Xiongpo anticline
On March 29, 2022, an MS4.3 earthquake occurred in Danling County, Meishan City, Sichuan Province. This event took place near the Xiongpo anticline at the southern margin of the Sichuan basin, with a focal depth of 3.5~5.5 km and a moment magnitude (MW ...

Earthquake focal mechanism data provide information about the stress state at the origin of earthquakes. The inversion methods that are commonly used to infer the stress tensor from focal mechanisms have varying complexity but always rely on a number of ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Tectonophysical experiments show that the evolution of the Fen-Wei Rift is controlled by oblique rifting. A key characteristic of the model in our study is that the western and eastern borders of the transfer zone between the adjacent NEE-striking ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.
