Multiple field-of-view MCAO for a Large Solar Telescope: LOST simulations
In the framework of a 4m class Solar Telescope we studied the performance of the MCAO using the LOST simulation package. In particular, in this work we focus on two different methods to reduce the time delay error which is particularly critical in solar ...

Disruption of SETD3‐mediated histidine‐73 methylation by the BWCFF‐associated β‐actin G74S mutation
The β‐actin G74S mutation causes altered interaction of actin with SETD3, reducing histidine‐73 methylation efficiency and forming two distinct actin variants. The variable ratio of these variants across cell types and developmental stages contributes to tissue‐specific phenotypical changes. This imbalance may impair actin dynamics and mechanosensitive

Extended depth of focus adaptive optics spectral domain optical coherence tomography
We present an adaptive optics spectral domain optical coherence tomography (AO-SDOCT) with a long focal range by active phase modulation of the pupil. A long focal range is achieved by introducing AO-controlled third-order spherical aberration (SA).

TOMM20 increases cancer aggressiveness by maintaining a reduced state with increased NADH and NADPH levels, oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS), and apoptosis resistance while reducing reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels. Conversely, CRISPR‐Cas9 knockdown of TOMM20 alters these cancer‐aggressive traits.

Development of Focusing Plasma Mirrors for Ultraintense Laser-Driven Particle and Radiation Sources
Increasing the peak intensity to which high power laser pulses are focused can open up new regimes of laser-plasma interactions, resulting in the acceleration of ions to higher energies and more efficient generation of energetic photons.

Integrating ancestry, differential methylation analysis, and machine learning, we identified robust epigenetic signature genes (ESGs) and Core‐ESGs in Black and White women with endometrial cancer. Core‐ESGs (namely APOBEC1 and PLEKHG5) methylation levels were significantly associated with survival, with tumors from high African ancestry (THA) showing ...

Quantum optics and frontiers of physics: The third quantum revolution
The year 2015 was the International Year of Light. It marked, however, also the 20th anniversary of the first observation of Bose-Einstein condensation in atomic vapors by Eric Cornell, Carl Wieman and Wolfgang Ketterle.

There is an unmet need in metastatic breast cancer patients to monitor therapy response in real time. In this study, we show how a noninvasive and affordable strategy based on sequencing of plasma samples with longitudinal tracking of tumour fraction paired with a statistical model provides valuable information on treatment response in advance of the ...
