All soil properties, including agronomic, ecological, biochemical, and physical characteristics, are directly or indirectly influenced by soil density, i.e., bulk mass. For all soil types, the optimal density in the plow layer (0-30 cm) is considered to be 1.20-1.22 g/cm³.
