Lewis Payne, Fishing, Town of Fogo

At 16 or 17 years of age Lewis Payne started fishing. He did this for five summers then joined a coal boat. He was in a shipwreak off the Madeleine Islands and had to row 15 miles to Cape Breton. He then came back to Fogo and joined another freight boat.
