Non-Robust Dynamic Inferences from Macroeconometric Models: Bifurcation Stratification of Confidence Regions [PDF]

open access: yes
Grandmont (1985) found that the parameter space of the most classical dynamic models are stratified into an infinite number of subsets supporting an infinite number of different kinds of dynamics, from monotonic stability at one extreme to chaos at the ...

Cu Site Preference and Structural Evolution in Cu‐Doped BiMn7O12 Quadruple Perovskite

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
Light Cu substitution in the quadruple perovskite BiMn7‐xCuxO12 progressively suppresses monoclinic distortion while enhancing local structural disorder and weakening magnetic order. Unexpected Cu site preferences inferred experimentally contrast with first‐principles predictions, revealing a delicate competition among local bonding, structural ...

ON THREE-PARAMETER FAMILIES of FILIPPOV SYSTEMS - THE FOLD-SADDLE SINGULARITY

open access: yes, 2012
This paper presents results concerning bifurcations of 2D piecewise-smooth vector fields. In particular, the generic unfoldings of codimension-three fold-saddle singularities of Filippov systems, where a boundary-saddle and a fold coincide, are ...

A second species of non‐crocodyliform crocodylomorph from the Late Triassic fissure deposits of southwestern UK: Implications for locomotory ecological diversity in Saltoposuchidae

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The Late Triassic–Early Jurassic fissures of the Bristol Channel area (southwest England and south Wales) are renowned for their diverse vertebrate faunas. These assemblages have yielded an array of predominantly small‐bodied forms that are crucial to our understanding of the early evolution of several major tetrapod clades.

Oldest well‐preserved euprimate petrosal, from the early Eocene of India (Vastan Lignite Mine, Gujarat)

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract An exquisitely preserved, isolated partial petrosal with associated fragmentary stapes is described from the Vastan Lignite Mine (Gujarat, India), dated to the early Eocene (~54.5 Ma). Several anatomical traits (e.g., large petrosal plate; posterolateral entry of the internal carotid artery to the tympanic cavity; bony tubes surrounding the ...

Different shape but the same topographical complexity—The lingual gross anatomy of the Saimaa (Pusa saimensis) and Baltic ringed seals (Pusa hispida botnica)

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Despite the distinctly different shapes of their tongues, the tongue gross anatomy of Saimaa ringed seal closely resembled that of Baltic ringed seal. There were no differences in the extrinsic and intrinsic tongue muscles or their associated vascularization and innervation between Saimaa and Baltic ringed seals.

Bifurcation and stability analysis of aircraft turning manoeuvres [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
During ground manoeuvres a loss of lateral stability due to the saturation of the main landing gear tyres can cause the aircraft to enter a skid or a spin. The lateral stability is governed not only by aspects of the gear design, such as its geometry and

Osteology of the pectoral girdle and forelimb of Siriusgnathus niemeyerorum, a Late Triassic traversodontid cynodont from Brazil

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Traversodontids are non‐mammaliaform cynodonts, herbivorous to omnivorous, that lived during the Triassic. In the Late Triassic, some members of this group increased in body size relative to other cynodont lineages and evolved postcranial adaptations associated with locomotion.

Phenomenological Study of Backward Bifurcation in Epidemiological Models.

open access: yes, 2005
This thesis is about the phenomenological study of bifurcations in epidemiologicalmodels, in particular, in backward bifurcation. We consider models that exhibit such bifurcation and also consider the factors that cause them.
