Anisotropic Mechanical Properties and Fracture Mechanism of Transversely Isotropic Rocks under Uniaxial Cyclic Loading

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Transversely isotropic rocks, which are special anisotropic materials, are widely encountered in civil, mining, petroleum, geothermal, and radioactive waste-disposal engineering. Rock is frequently subject to cyclic loads resulting from natural and human-

A note on projective foliations

open access: yesPublicacions Matemàtiques, 1983
In [12], Nishikawa and Sato studied conformal and projective foliationsdefined as foliations whose second order transversal bundle is endowed witheither a conformal or a projective projectable structure. (See, for instance[7] for such structures on manifolds.) Namely, they proved the existence ofcorresponding projectable normal Cartan connections from ...

On non-Kupka points of codimension one foliations on ℙ3

open access: yesAnais da Academia Brasileira de Ciências
We study the singular set of a codimension one holomorphic foliation on ℙ 3 . We find a local normal form for these foliations near a codimension two component of the singular set that is not of Kupka type.
