The Great Dyke of Zimbabwe is notable for its rich platinum group metal deposits but poses significant geological and geotechnical challenges due to its complex rock types and structural features. Traditional pillar design methods are insufficient for addressing these complexities; the study suggests incorporating advanced techniques such as machine ...

Garnet–monazite rare earth element relationships in sub-solidus metapelites: a case study from Bhutan [PDF]
A key aim of modern metamorphic geochronology is to constrain precise and accurate rates and timescales of tectonic processes. One promising approach in amphibolite and granulite-facies rocks links the geochronological information recorded in zoned ...

Controls on early‐rift geometry: new perspectives from the Bilila‐Mtakataka fault, Malawi [PDF]
We use the ~110 km long Bilila‐Mtakataka fault in the amagmatic southern East African Rift, Malawi, to investigate the controls on early‐rift geometry at the scale of a major border fault.

The new aluminum‐based lithium adsorbent synthesized by the one‐step co‐precipitation method has a high adsorption capacity and stability, and at the same time, inhibits the formation of gibbsite during the desorption process; it is able to reverse gibbsite during the adsorption phase to ensure structural stability.

An archean suture zone in the Tobacco Root Mountains? (1984) Evolution of Archean Continental Crust, SW Montana (1985) [PDF]
The Lake Plateau area of the Beartooth Mountains, Montana were mapped and geochemically sampled. The allochthonous nature of the Stillwater Complex was interpreted as a Cordilleran-style continental margin.

Anomalously old biotite 40Ar/39Ar ages in the NW Himalaya [PDF]
Biotite 40Ar/39Ar ages older than corresponding muscovite 40Ar/39Ar ages, contrary to the diffusion properties of these minerals, are common in the Himalaya and other metamorphic regions.

Charnockites with 2691–2607 Ma magmatic ages from the NMZ show arc‐magmatic geochemical signatures. They correspond to the lower‐crustal equivalent of the Chilimanzi Suite Granite in the Zimbabwe Craton. Lu‐Hf isotopic data of magmatic zircons show negative εHf(t) values (−11.18 to −2.20) with TDMC ages of 3699–3158 Ma, suggesting their protolith ...
