Effect of follicular aspiration on hormonal parameters in patients undergoing ovarian stimulation
Human Reproduction, 1991The effect of follicular aspiration and oocyte retrieval on hormonal parameters was examined in women undergoing ovarian stimulation for in-vitro fertilization (IVF) compared to induced ovulation in women undergoing ovarian stimulation for intrauterine insemination (IUI).

Several fractions were prepared from porcine follicular fluid, each having FSH receptor binding inhibitory activity. All were soluble in acidic acetone (pH 3.5) and insoluble in ether (pH 10.5), and could be separated on the basis of charge, using anion exchange HPLC. The effect of these fractions on aromatization of androstenedione to estradiol (basal

Twelve normally menstruating women were stimulated with (1) human menopausal gonadotropins (hMG) containing follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) and (2) FSH only to induce growth of multiple follicles for oocyte retrieval.

To define the precise neuroendocrine characteristics of the luteal-follicular transition, 11 normal women underwent 12 frequent sampling studies at 10-min intervals for 48 h at various points during the transition from one cycle to the next. Daily blood samples captured both the preceding and subsequent LH surges, so that studies could be characterized

The present study was undertaken to investigate the effects of GH on follicular growth, oocyte maturation, ovulation, and production of insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I) in the in vitro perfused rabbit ovaries. Ovulation did not occur in any ovaries perfused with GH at a concentration of 1, 10, 100, or 200 ng/ml, but the addition of GH to the ...

The purpose of this experiment was to characterize adrenal and ovarian responses to N-methyl-beta-phenethylamine (NMP) or ACTH. Thirty-three heifers with functional midcycle corpora lutea were placed on a 4-d superovulation regimen. They were injected twice daily with FSH-P and either saline (Control), ACTH (80 IU), or NMP (1 mg/kg BW).

Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH) Immunoactivity in Porcine Follicular Fluid Is Not Pituitary FSH*
Endocrinology, 1988Two inhibitors of FSH binding to receptor have been isolated from porcine follicular fluid and shown to have in vitro biological activity. These inhibitors were distinct separable entities with opposite biological effects (agonist and antagonist) on cultured FSH-responsive Sertoli cells.

[Ultrasonic diagnosis of hormonal stimulation follicular maturation and ovulation].
Jugoslavenska ginekologija i opstetricija, 1985The development of ovarian follicles was observed by ultrasound in 10 patients with the normal menstrual cycle and 10 patients with hormonally stimulated ovulation. In 2 of the patients with the normal cycle the diameter of the follicles was less than 2 cm. They had no ovulation.

Purpose: To examine the ability of testicular histopathology in Non-obstructive azoospermia (NOA) in predicting sperm retrieval rate (SR), sperm quality and assisted reproductive technology success. Methods: A retrospective study recruited clinically diagnosed NOA patients between 2007 and 2015. Testicular biopsy and conventional sperm extraction (TESE)

The two-cell theory predicts that follicular steroidogenesis requires the coordinate actions of both FSH and LH; however, the role of LH in follicular growth is less clear. The present study was designed to investigate the relative importance of LH and FSH in follicular growth and steroidogenesis. Cynomolgus monkeys were treated with a GnRH antagonist (
