Acta Paediatrica, 1994A longitudinal study should be undertaken only when there is a clear reason to justify this and a reasonable chance of achieving the objectives. A multidisciplinary approach is often required, and continuity of staff and long‐term collaboration with colleagues are important for their success.

Sigmoidocystoplasty: a Follow-Up Study
European Urology, 1980Sigmoidocystoplasty was performed in 62 patients. 36 were followed up. The mean observation period was 68 months, ranging from 6 to 318 months. In 18 patients the results were considered as good, 11 were improved after the operation and in 6 cases the situation was unchanged.

A Follow-up Study of Traumatized Children [PDF]
This study compared 17 abused children with 17 children who had been in accidents, matched for age, race, sex, and socioeconomic status, eight years after all had been studied as infants. Each traumatized group was also compared with a matched untraumatized group with no known history of abuse or infantile accident.
