Health‐Related Quality of Life and Symptom Severity Among Patients With PIK3CA‐Related Overgrowth Spectrum: A Mixed‐Methods Study to Understand Real‐World Experience With Alpelisib Treatment

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background PIK3CA‐related overgrowth spectrum (PROS) includes several rare overgrowth disorders resulting from somatic gain‐of‐function mutations in PIK3CA. Despite treatment advances, including the recent approval of alpelisib for PROS in the United States, literature detailing the patient experience with PROS is limited.

Clinical and Biological Features of Response in Resistant Neuroblastoma to 131I‐Metaiodobenzylguanidine Radiotherapy in the Anti‐GD2 Immunotherapy Era

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background 131I‐metaiodobenzylguanidine (131I‐MIBG) radiotherapy is a key treatment for relapsed and refractory (R/R) neuroblastoma (NB). Patients with R/R disease treated in the modern era are increasingly exposed to anti‐GD2 immunotherapy, which exerts selective pressure and may modify both tumor cell state and microenvironment.

Follow-up Timing of Three GMRT Pulsars [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2018
Abstract We report on the results of multi-frequency follow-up observations of three pulsars (PSRs J0026+6320, J2208+5500, and J2217+5733) discovered with the Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (GMRT). These observations were carried out with the GMRT and the Ooty Radio Telescope (ORT).

Hospitalization Through Families’ Eyes: Comparing Inpatient Care Quality for Children With Sickle Cell Disease and Cystic Fibrosis in Canada

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a chronic, inherited hemoglobinopathy that requires frequent hospitalization for disease‐related complications. Canadian data on inpatient care is limited. This study compared caregiver‐reported hospital experiences of children with SCD to those with cystic fibrosis (CF), a chronic, autosomal recessive ...

Time-to-Event Analysis of Longitudinal Follow-up of a Survey: Choice of the Time-scale [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Epidemiology, 1997
Abstract Following individuals sampled in a large-scale health survey for the development of diseases and/or death offers the opportunity to assess the prognostic significance of various risk factors. The proportional hazards regression model, which allows for the control of covariates, is frequently used for the analysis of such data ...

Failure time studies with intermittent observation and losses to follow‐up [PDF]

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Statistics, 2020
AbstractIn health research interest often lies in modeling a failure time process but in many cohort studies failure status is only determined at scheduled assessment times. While the assessment times may be fixed upon study entry, individuals may become lost to follow‐up and miss visits subsequent to the time of loss to follow‐up.
