Associations of Outdoor Air Pollution With Incidence of Cancers Other Than Lung Cancer in a Large US Prospective Cohort

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 159, Issue 6, Page 1440-1454, 15 September 2026.
Associations between outdoor air pollution and cancers other than lung cancer remain unclear, particularly in the context of tobacco use. Here, the authors assessed possible links between ambient air pollutant exposure and incidence of 20 non‐lung cancers among adults followed over a 25‐year period in the United States.

Programming of Complex Magnetic Profiles Enforced by 4D Printed Magnetic LCE Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 51, 11 September 2026.
A 4D printing‐enabled magnetic programming strategy is introduced in which thermally actuated liquid crystal elastomers are magnetized in their target shape to encode complex three‐dimensional magnetic profiles. The resulting actuators achieve multistate shape morphing and programmable locomotion under low magnetic fields, without requiring specialized

Unraveling the drivers of amphibian community distribution at a lowland–mountain interface: A joint modeling approach

open access: yesEcosphere, Volume 17, Issue 9, September 2026.
Abstract Understanding how environmental and biotic processes jointly shape species distributions and community composition is a central goal in ecology. Although species distribution models (SDMs) have become essential tools for quantifying environmental drivers of occurrence, their single‐species framework limits inference about interspecific ...

Parents Adaptively Adjust Timing and Musical Complexity in Object‐Use Demonstrations During Early Triadic Interactions

open access: yesInfant and Child Development, Volume 35, Issue 5, September/October 2026.
ABSTRACT Early musical interactions play a formative role in structuring infant‐caregiver exchanges. However, much of the research on communicative musicality has focused on dyadic formats, overlooking the triadic contexts in which infants engage with adults and objects.

Fish Mass Mortality Events Trigger Energy Transfer via Invertebrate‐Mediated Pathways at the Aquatic–Terrestrial Interface

open access: yesFreshwater Biology, Volume 71, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Animal mass mortality events are increasing under global change, generating large and unpredictable pulses of carrion that can influence ecosystem functioning. Although scavenger dynamics at individual carcasses are relatively well understood, little is known about how terrestrial vertebrate and invertebrate assemblages exploit large carrion ...
