Physical Properties and Durability of Adobes Stabilized by Hyperrhenia hirta and Stipa offneri Fibers

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
This study focuses on the use of plant fibers from Hyperrhenia hirta (HH) and Stipa offneri (SO) as reinforcements in adobe production. The physical properties and durability were evaluated through an experimental campaign. The fibers were incorporated into the clay matrix at contents ranging from 0% to 1%, with a step of 0.2%.

Mechanical Characterization and Damage Modeling of Adobe Blocks Stabilized With Natural Plant Fibers

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
This study evaluates the mechanical performance of adobe blocks stabilized with natural plant fibers derived from Hyparrhenia hirta (HH) and Stipa offneri (SO). To this end, adobe specimens were fabricated by incorporating plant fibers into the soil matrix at contents ranging from 0% to 1% by weight of soil, with increments of 0.2%.

Optimization of Quinoa‐Based Gluten‐Free Bread Production Using Microbial Transglutaminase Enzyme and Hydroxypropyl Methyl Cellulose (HPMC) by Response Surface Methodology

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 9, September 2025.
The optimized bread formulation demonstrated improved rheological properties, microstructure, and physicochemical qualities, with a more uniform gas distribution than conventional wheat bread. However, it showed reduced water migration during baking, a notable difference from wheat bread, which could affect shelf stability and requires further study ...
