Most commercial footwear is designed and manufactured on a curved last, although the amount of curvature of the last and the turning point of the last centerline have not been formally determined. In this study, we used principal component analysis to determine the foot axis so that lasts that match feet can be produced, resulting in a good fit.

It is not diabetic foot: it is my foot

Method: This qualitative study, using patient interviews, focused on how inpatients receiving treatment for diabetes experience the disease. Patients were selected using a purposive sampling method. Results: A total of 15 patients participated in the study.

Foot complications in diabetics often lead to amputation. Ulceration is the most common complication in the diabetic forefoot and underlies more than 90% of cases of pedal osteomyelitis. The diagnosis of osteomyelitis is, nevertheless, difficult, and imaging is an important part of the work‐up.
