Decoupling Dynamics and Crosslink Stability in Supramolecular Hydrogels Using Associative Exchange

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
How does reorganization impact the stability of supramolecular hydrogels? In contrast to dissociative crosslink exchange, implementing associative exchange in macroscale DNA hydrogels enables decoupling of reorganization dynamics from thermal and mechanical stability.

Resolving Complex Multiscale Structure of Magneto‐ and Electroactive Polymer Composites With an Ionic Liquid

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Multiscale ionic liquid segregation into nano‐sized domains in the unconfined amorphous polymer phase and into micron‐sized pores enables a coupled magneto‐ and electroactive responses. ABSTRACT A multiscale understanding of the structure of ionogels – nanoparticle‐free polymer composites incorporating ionic liquids – is essential for enhancing their ...

Polymorph‐Specific Electronic Transduction in WO3 during Molecular Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐oxide polymorphs with similar surface chemistry can nevertheless exhibit distinct sensing properties. In γ‐ and ε‐WO3, analyte adsorption appears comparable; yet, only ε‐WO3 induces a pronounced lattice electronic perturbation that accommodates charge in sub‐conduction band minimum states.

Managing complex foot deformities in paraplegia: Outcomes of intramedullary hindfoot arthrodesis for spastic pes cavovarus; A case series review

open access: yesFoot & Ankle Surgery: Techniques, Reports & Cases
Background: Patients with spinal cord injury (SCI), particularly those with paraplegia, often develop rigid foot deformities such as spastic pes cavovarus due to unopposed muscle activity and chronic spasticity.

Ammonium Salts as Curing Agents to Obtain Ionic Epoxy Resins With a Thermoplastic‐to‐Thermoset Transition

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ionic epoxy networks are prepared using ammonium salts as hardeners, leading to a two‐stage curing process with a thermoplastic‐like intermediate. This uncommon behavior enables extrusion and fabrication of thermoplastic prepregs that can be cured into thermoset composites.

Human quadrupedalism is not an epiphenomenon caused\ud by neurodevelopmental malformation and ataxia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Two cases with quadrupedal locomotion (QL) were presented. In both cases, cognitive and psychiatric functions were normal and, no neurological deficits were observed, except for a sequel paralysis of left leg in Case 2.
