Introduction: Many occupations require prolonged standing during exercise, which is one of the most important causes of musculoskeletal disorders, causing pain and discomfort in the back, lower limbs, and especially the soles of the feet, resulting in ...

Exploring portable negative pressure wound therapy devices in the community [PDF]
Case studies and clinical reviews support the use of negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) for managing a range of wound types, yet very few scientific studies fully support its effectiveness.

Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Hallux valgus and plantar pressure loading: the Framingham foot study [PDF]
Background: Hallux valgus (HV), a common structural foot deformity, can cause foot pain and lead to limited mobility. The purpose of this study was to evaluate differences in plantar pressure and force during gait by HV status in a large population-based

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Plantar Pressure Detection with Fiber Bragg Gratings Sensing System
In this paper, a novel fiber-optic sensing system based on fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) to measure foot plantar pressure is proposed. This study first explores the Pedar-X insole foot pressure types of the adult-size chart and then defines six measurement

Effect of the shoe on plantar foot pressures [PDF]
The bare foot plantar pressures were compared to in-shoe pressure measurements in 11 normal male volunteers using the EMED system. Shoes diminished pressures and forces in most areas under the foot except the medial forefoot. The hallux showed less force, a smaller contact area and a reduced contact time. Therefore a shoe can interfere with the toe-off

The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in
