Oxygen‐Tunnel Indium Tin Oxide Vertical Channel Transistors with Enhanced Current Density and Reliability for Monolithic 3D Compute‐In‐Memory Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Oxygen‐tunnel (OT) indium tin oxide (ITO) vertical channel transistors (VCTs) enable reliable, high‐density gain‐cell memory for monolithic 3D integration. A sandwiched SiN/SiO2/SiN OT stack selectively regulates oxygen transport, suppressing parasitic electrode oxidation while stabilizing channel oxygen vacancies, thereby suppressing carrier injection

Wind observations from a forested hill: Relating turbulence statistics to surface characteristics in hilly and patchy terrain

open access: yesMeteorologische Zeitschrift, 2018
This study investigates turbulence characteristics as observed at a 200 m tall mast at a hilly and complex site. It thereby concentrates on turbulence statistics, which are important for the site suitability analysis of a wind turbine.

The water footprint of Irish meat and dairy products [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The water consumption of a range of dairy and beef production systems was estimated for four locations in Ireland using the Cranfield Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) systems model. This included direct water consumption (for drinking, washing, cleaning, etc.)

Modifying the yield factor based on more efficient use of fertilizer — The environmental impacts of intensive and extensive agricultural practices [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The aim of this article is to draw attention to calculations on the environmental effects of agriculture and to the definition of marginal agricultural yield. When calculating the environmental impacts of agricultural activities, the real environmental

Receptor‐Free Identification of Toxic Gases Enabled by Hygroscopic Aqueous Salt Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Water as a gas sensor coating sounds impossible—until it stops evaporating. Here, hygroscopic salt solutions (LiCl, LiBr, H3PO4) form non‐drying aqueous films on CNT chemiresistors under ambient air. Gases partition into these liquid layers, sometimes transforming into water, and generate salt‐specific resistance fingerprints across a four‐channel ...

Determination of Sex from Footprint Dimensions in Contemporary Indian Bengali Population: A Pilot Study

open access: yesArab Journal of Forensic Sciences & Forensic Medicine, 2018
Footprint dimensions are vital evidences obtained from scenes of crime. Forensic scientists use this information to help identify the offender. Footprints have also been used to build the biological profile of an unknown individual for identification ...

Parametric Study of a Taut Compliant Mooring System for a FOWT Compared to a Catenary Mooring

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2020
The catenary mooring system is a well recognized station keeping method. However, there could be economical and environmental benefits of reducing the footprint.

One More Awareness Gap? The Behaviour–Impact Gap Problem [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Preceding research has made hardly any attempt to measure the ecological impacts of pro-environmental behaviour in an objective way. Those impacts were rather supposed or calculated.
