The mandibular incisive foramen, a false mental foramen

Morphologie, 2020
The mandibular incisive foramen (MIF) is an opening on the external surface of the dentate mandibular body, medial to, and facing the mental foramen (MF). There is actually scarce evidence of such MIF.A retrospective Cone Beam CT (CBCT) study of the archived files of a 56 y.o. male patient was documented anatomically for dental medical purposes. In the

Patent Foramen Ovale

Cardiology Clinics, 2013
Patent foramen ovale (PFO) is a common developmental anomaly that allows for the passage of blood and other substances from the venous to the arterial circulation. The study of PFO closure has been challenging due to widely available off-label closures performed outside the clinical trial setting.

Jugulare foramen paragangliomas

Acta Neurochirurgica, 1992
A survey is given of the clinical picture, diagnosis and management of foramen jugulare paragangliomas (JFP), based on reports of 175 cases from the literature and personal experience of 26 cases. Special emphasis is given to the operative techniques. Improvements of diagnostic possibilities as well as operative techniques, including the pre-operative ...

Accessory oval foramen

Annals of Anatomy - Anatomischer Anzeiger, 2001
We describe an opening with smooth walls in front and medial to foramen ovale which leads to an oblique canal directed towards the fossa pterygoidea. The canal was up to 2.3 mm long and opened near the root of the pterygoid process. We called this opening "foramen ovale accessorium", and found it in 48 of 124 anatomical specimens.

Jugular Foramen Paragangliomas

Paragangliomas are the most common tumors at jugular foramen and pose a great surgical challenge. Careful clinical history and physical examination must be performed to adequately evaluate neurological deficits and its chronologic evolution, also to delineate an overview of the patient performance status.

The incidence of foramen zygomaticoorbitale, foramen zygomaticotemporale, foramen zygomaticofaciale and safe zone determination for foramen zygomaticofaciale

2018
Background: Os zygomaticum is one of the bones that haveimportance in terms of surgery and aesthetics due to the anatomical location inthe face region. The location of the foramen zygomaticofaciale (FZF), foramenzygomaticoorbitale (FZO), and foramen zygomaticotemporale (FZT) which locate onos zygomaticum and serve as transition for some neurovascular ...

Mental foramen and apical foramen: A dangerous anatomical proximity

Australian Endodontic Journal
AbstractThe study evaluated the spatial position of the mental foramen (MF) using 300 cone‐beam computed tomography. The spatial position was analyzed with the horizontal location and relative location (distance between apical foramen and MF). The horizontal location was assessed through three positions (positions 1, 2, and 3).

[Jugular Foramen, Foramen Magnum Meningiomas].

No shinkei geka. Neurological surgery
The jugular foramen, also known as the foramen magnum, is a highly intricate region of the skull base through which numerous critical blood vessels and nerves traverse. Meningiomas, the most common tumors in neurosurgical pathology, can arise at any location where the meninges are present, posing significant challenges.
