FAME (v1.0): a simple module to simulate the effect of planktonic foraminifer species-specific habitat on their oxygen isotopic content [PDF]
The oxygen-18 to oxygen-16 ratio recorded in fossil planktonic foraminifer shells has been used for over 50 years in many geoscience applications. However, different planktonic foraminifer species generally yield distinct signals, as a consequence of ...

A new evidence of passing the Maastichtian–Paleocene boundary by larger benthic foraminifers: The case of Elazigina from the Maastrichtian Tarbur Formation of Iran [PDF]
We describe a new Maastrichtian species of the benthic foraminifer Elazigina siderea from Tarbur Formation. Its main characters are the presence of heavy feathered umbilical sutures, a wide umbilical plug, and umbilical piles.

UNDER the above heading in last week's NATURE Dr. Hanitsch briefly draws our attention to Mr. A. Goes' report on the deep sea organisms procured by Prof. Agassiz in the American tropical Pacific, which he describes as Arenaceous Foraminifera, with the name Neusina Agassizi.

We present the first nitrogen isotope (δ15N) measurements of planktic foraminifera, paleoceanographically important zooplankton, from the nutrient‐rich waters of the modern Southern Ocean. Foraminifera were collected from net tows in the Subantarctic and

Holocene trends in the foraminifer record from the Norwegian Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean [PDF]
The early to mid-Holocene thermal optimum is a well-known feature in a wide variety of paleoclimate archives from the Northern Hemisphere. Reconstructed summer temperature anomalies from across northern Europe show a clear maximum around 6000 years ...

Phenotypic Evolution in a Cretaceous Foraminifer [PDF]
Statistically well-documented sequences of fossil species are rare, as has been observed, for example, by Eldredge and Gould (1972), Boucot (1978) and Dodson and Hallam (1977). Rapid advances in theoretical paleontology made over the last few years have, however, made it imperative that the many new and exciting theories we now have at our disposal be ...
