Evidence of internal structure validity of the nursing outcome “Mechanical Ventilation Weaning Response: Adult (0412)” for critically ill COVID‐19 patients

open access: yesInternational Journal of Nursing Knowledge, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To evaluate the evidence of internal structure validity of the nursing outcome (NO) “Mechanical Ventilation Weaning Response: Adult (0412)” of the NOs classification for critically ill COVID‐19 patients. Methods A methodological study focused on internal structural validation, part of a multicenter study, was carried out in the ...

Nanoparticle-Biological Interactions in a Marine Benthic Foraminifer [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2019
AbstractThe adverse effects of engineered nanomaterials (ENM) in marine environments have recently attracted great attention although their effects on marine benthic organisms such as foraminifera are still largely overlooked. Here we document the effects of three negatively charged ENM, different in size and composition, titanium dioxide (TiO2 ...

Balancing Fire Regimes and Population Dynamics for the Conservation of a Microendemic Lizard From a Biodiversity Hotspot

open access: yesAnimal Conservation, EarlyView.
Disturbance from fire mediates a potential ecophysiological trade‐off between adult performance and juvenile recruitment in the microendemic lizard Ameivula jalapensis. While open, burned habitats enhance adult thermoregulation and condition, unburned patches remain critical for juvenile thermal optima.

Pliocene (Piacenzian) planktic foraminiferal biogeography: insights into how planktic biogeography is linked to climate and socioeconomic impacts on marine ecosystems

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
The Piacenzian Age (3.60–2.58 Ma) of the Pliocene Epoch was characterized by globally warmer climates, higher sea levels, and atmospheric CO2 similar to present.
