Foraminifera from the Tepetate Formation (Heim) at Las Pocitas, Baja California Sur, Mexico

open access: yesCiencias Marinas, 2008
In order to constrain the age and depositional paleoenvironment of the Tepetate Formation, benthic and planktonic foraminifera were analyzed in samples recovered from an exploration well located at Las Pocitas, Baja California Sur, Mexico.

A late Holocene sea-level curve for the east coast of South Africa

open access: yesSouth African Journal of Science, 2014
South Africa’s extensive and topographically diverse coastline lends itself to interpreting and understanding sea-level fluctuations through a range of geomorphological and biological proxies.

Short-term fate of phytodetritus in sediments across the arabian sea oxygen minimum zone [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The short-term fate of phytodetritus was investigated across the Pakistan margin of the Arabian Sea at water depths ranging from 140 to 1850 m, encompassing the oxygen minimum zone (~100–1100 m).

Ecology of foraminifera during the middle Eocene climatic optimum in Kutch, India

open access: yes, 2017
The shallow marine carbonates of Kutch temporally correspond to the globally recognised warming period called Middle Eocene Climatic Optimum (MECO) that extended from later part of planktic foraminiferal zone E11 to E12 and Shallow Benthic Zone (SBZ) 17.

Li Partitioning Into Coccoliths of Emiliania huxleyi: Evaluating the General Role of “Vital Effects” in Explaining Element Partitioning in Biogenic Carbonates

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, 2020
Emiliania huxleyi cells were grown in artificial seawater of different Li and Ca concentrations and coccolith Li/Ca ratios determined. Coccolith Li/Ca ratios were positively correlated to seawater Li/Ca ratios only if the seawater Li concentration was ...

Trends in element incorporation in hyaline and porcelaneous foraminifera as a function of p CO 2

open access: yes, 2017
. In this study we analyzed the impact of seawater carbonate chemistry on the incorporation of elements in both hyaline and porcelaneous larger benthic foraminifera. We observed a higher incorporation of Zn and Ba when pCO2 increases from 350 to 1200 ppm.

Lithostratigraphy and Microbiostratigraphy of the Ruteh Formation in Northwest of Khur, Central Alborz, Iran [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Sciences, Islamic Republic of Iran, 2010
A sequence of Permian rocks crops out in Northwest of Khur in Central Alborz, North of Iran. This sequence consists of the Dorud (Asselian-Sakmarian), Ruteh (Artinskian-Murgabian) and Nesen (Early Djulfian) formations.
