Forbidden Subposet Problems for Traces of Set Families

open access: yesThe Electronic Journal of Combinatorics, 2018
In this paper we introduce a problem that bridges forbidden subposet and forbidden subconfiguration problems. The sets $F_1,F_2, \dots,F_{|P|}$ form a copy of a poset $P$, if there exists a bijection $i:P\rightarrow \{F_1,F_2, \dots,F_{|P|}\}$ such that for any $p,p'\in P$ the relation $p<_P p'$ implies $i(p)\subsetneq i(p')$. A family $\mathcal{F}$

Extracting Subregular constraints from Regular stringsets

open access: yesJournal of Language Modelling, 2019
We introduce algorithms that, given a Finite-State Automaton (FSA), compute a minimal set of forbidden local factors that define a Strictly Local (SL) tight approximation of the stringset recognised by the FSA and the set of forbidden piecewise factors ...

An Algebraic Approach for Action Based Default Reasoning [PDF]

open access: yesElectronic Proceedings in Theoretical Computer Science, 2019
Often, we assume that an action is permitted simply because it is not explicitly forbidden; or, similarly, that an action is forbidden simply because it is not explicitly permitted.

Sociodemographic Factors Associated With Later Stage at Diagnosis of Pediatric Germ Cell Tumors: A Report From Children's Oncology Group Registries ACCRN07 and APEC14B1

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Germ cell tumors (GCTs) often arise in the ovaries and testes (extracranial) but can also develop in the brain (intracranial). We examined the relationship of individual, family, and community‐level socioeconomic status (SES) with stage of disease at diagnosis in a cohort of pediatric patients with GCT from Children's Oncology Group

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Efficacy of Inebilizumab in N‐MOmentum Trial Participants With or Without Prior Immunosuppressants

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This post hoc analysis examined the impact of prior immunosuppressants on the long‐term efficacy and safety of inebilizumab, a cluster of differentiation 19+ B‐cell–depleting monoclonal antibody, in participants with aquaporin‐4–seropositive neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder from the N‐MOmentum trial (NTC02200770).

Stem Cell Transplantation in Friedreich Ataxia: Cure for Leukemia but No Effect on Neurological Progression

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Friedreich Ataxia (FRDA) is a neurodegenerative disorder of children and young adults associated with cardiomyopathy and other systemic complications. We report a 10‐year‐old girl who presented simultaneously with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia and FRDA who was successfully treated for her leukemia with allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell ...

Forbidden Triples Generating a Finite set of 3-Connected Graphs [PDF]

open access: yesThe Electronic Journal of Combinatorics, 2015
For a graph $G$ and a set $\mathcal{F}$ of connected graphs, $G$ is said be $\mathcal{F}$-free if $G$ does not contain any member of $\mathcal{F}$ as an induced subgraph. We let $\mathcal{G} _{3}(\mathcal{F})$ denote the set of all $3$-connected $\mathcal{F}$-free graphs.

Associations of Rheumatoid Arthritis Disease Activity With Frailty Over Five Years of Follow‐up

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective To evaluate whether rheumatoid arthritis (RA) disease activity is associated with frailty both in cross‐section and longitudinally. Methods Participants within the Veterans Affairs Rheumatoid Arthritis (VARA) registry enrolled from 2003 to 2022 were included.
