Prevalence and Spirometric Transitions of PRISm and Obstruction: A Population‐Based Study
ABSTRACT Background and Objective This study aims to assess the prevalence and longitudinal transitions of spirometric patterns defined by the lower limit of normal (LLN) criteria: normal airflow (FEV1/FVC≥LLN, FEV1 ≥ LLN); preserved ratio impaired spirometry (PRISm; FEV1/FVC≥LLN, FEV1 < LLN); or obstruction (FEV1/FVC

Daily head‐to‐head comparison of EXACT vs. CERT for early detection of acute COPD exacerbations. Both tools accurately identified exacerbations at diagnosis (AUC≈0.9), but CERT detected worsening one day earlier (p = 0.006). CERT's simplicity and free access support rapid patient self‐monitoring and may enable timely intervention.

Forced expiratory volume is associated with cardiovascular and cortisol reactions to acute psychological stress: Forced expiratory volume and stress reactivity [PDF]
It has been argued that blunted cardiovascular and cortisol reactions to acute psychological stress reflect a dysregulation of the neural system that supports motivation. We examined the association between forced expiratory volume in 1 s, an effort (hence motivation) dependent measure of lung function measured by spirometry, and cardiovascular and ...

A cardiopulmonary exercise testing‐derived summed score effectively predicted mortality or lung transplantation risk in newly diagnosed interstitial lung disease. Higher summed scores (2–5) were associated with markedly lower event‐free survival rates.

Dynamic computed tomography in the diagnosis of tracheomalacia in asthmatic patients
Dynamic computed tomography (CT) offers a non-invasive approach to diagnosing tracheomalacia, especially in asthmatic patients with varying severities of airway obstruction.
