The Benefit of Maternal Care and Infanticide by Males as Reproductive Strategies in a Caprellid Amphipod. [PDF]
In the marine amphipod Caprella kominatoensis, males perform infanticide to terminate maternal care and accelerate female molting for mating opportunities. However, we found that maternal defense is effective when the female parent is larger than the intruding male.
