Measurement of the time-temperature dependent dynamic mechanical properties of boron/aluminum composites [PDF]

open access: yes
A flexural vibration test and associated equipment were developed to accurately measure the low strain dynamic modulus and damping of composite materials from -200 C to over 500 C.

Вынужденные колебания венца рабочих лопаток турбомашин с учетом демпфирования [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Изложена методика исследования вынужденных колебаний венцов рабочих лопаток турбомашин с учетом демпфирования. С использованием метода конечных элементов разработана уточненная математическая модель секции "сектор диска – лопатка с демпферными связями ...

Dispensing Volumetric Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Dispensing volumetric additive manufacturing (DVAM) prints 3D structures inside a photocurable resin droplet suspended from the tip of a glass pipette, enabling sequential printing without resin vats or manual part removal. Real‐time droplet profiling and ray‐tracing‐based correction compensate for optical distortion at the curved resin‐air interface ...

Halide‐Dependent Photoluminescence and Heavy‐Atom Effects in Low‐Melting Organic–Inorganic Manganese Halides

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Two pyridinium‐based ionic liquid templated hybrid manganese halides, (C4Py)2[MnCl4] and (C4Py)2[MnBr4], display similar bulk structures but show significantly different photoluminescence behaviors due to the bromine heavy‐atom effect. Their stable local Mn environments remain intact even in the molten state, allowing applications such as luminescence ...

A study of internal and distributed damping for vibrating turbomachiner blades [PDF]

open access: yes
Internal and distributed damping as possible methods for reducing the vibration response of turbomachine blades and theoretical methods for analyzing damped vibration were studied.

Amyloidogenic Peptide Fragments Designed From Bacterial Collagen‐like Proteins Form Hydrogel

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study identified amyloidogenic sequence motifs in bacterial collagen‐like proteins and exploited these to design peptides that self‐assemble into β‐sheet fibers and form hydrogels. One hydrogel supported healthy fibroblast growth, showing promise for biocompatible materials. Our work demonstrates that bacterial sequences can be harnessed to create
