Rotor vibration caused by external excitation and rub [PDF]
For turbomachinery with low natural frequencies, considerations have been recently required for rotor vibrations caused by external forces except unbalance one, such as foundation motion, seismic wave, rub and so forth.

An Experimental High‐Throughput Approach for the Screening of Hard Magnet Materials
An entire workflow for the high‐throughput characterization and analysis of compositionally graded magnetic films is presented. Characterization protocols, data management tools and data analysis approaches are illustrated with test case Sm(Fe, V)12 based films.

A distinct semi‐confined inner‐tube chemical vapor deposition geometry enables reproducible, large‐area growth of phase‐pure 2D β′‐In2Se3 from InI + Se precursors. Engineering local vapor transport and optimizing precursor delivery and temperature–time conditions yield uniform continuous films.

Nonlinear normal modes, modal interactions and isolated resonance curves [PDF]
The objective of the present study is to explore the connection between the nonlinear normal modes of an undamped and unforced nonlinear system and the isolated resonance curves that may appear in the damped response of the forced system. To this end, an

Entrainment phenomenon by forced displacement excitation in vortex induced vibration
This paper deals with the entrainment phenomenon by forced displacement excitation in vortex induced vibration of structures. This phenomenon can occur when a long-period earthquake occurs in a super high-rise structure that may have vortex induced ...

Experimental and theoretical investigation of passive damping concepts for member forced and free vibration [PDF]
Potential passive damping concepts for use in space structures are identified. The effectiveness of copper brush, wool swab, and silly putty in chamber dampers is investigated through natural vibration tests on a tubular aluminum member.

This study uncovers the unexplored role of intermolecular interactions in multiphoton absorption in coordination polymers. By analyzing [Zn2tpda(DMA)2(DMF)0.3], it shows how the electronic coupling of the chromophores and confinement in the MOF enhance two‐and three‐photon absorption.

Computer program determines vibration in three-dimensional space of hydraulic lines excited by forced displacements [PDF]
Computer program determines the forced vibration in three dimensional space of a multiple degree of freedom beam type structural system. Provision is made for the longitudinal axis of the analytical model to change orientation at any point along its ...

An asymptotically exact theory of functionally graded piezoelectric shells
An asymptotically exact two-dimensional theory of functionally graded piezoelectric shells is derived by the variational-asymptotic method. The error estimation of the constructed theory is given in the energetic norm.
