DISC COULTER FORCES: EVALUATION OF MATHEMATICAL MODELS
Transactions of the ASAE, 1991ABSTRACT The predictive ability of 12 coulter force models was evaluated. An empirical power model best predicted coulter forces, but this model was one of four which did not include any soil or machine parameters. The other eight models included assumed distributions of the directions and relative magnitudes of the coulter surface tractions, but none ...

MATHEMATICAL MODELS OF CUTTING FORCES IN TURNING OPERATIONS
Machine Science Journal, 2023The paper considers a variant of the predictive determination of the cutting force components for non-free cutting when turning. It is established that both the process of plastic deformation and the process of friction on back surfaces adjacent to main and auxiliary cutting edges of the tool influence the magnitude and direction of a cutting force ...

Mathematical Modeling and Analysis of Force Output
2016Force output is extremely important for electromagnetic linear machines. The purpose of this chapter is to formulate the force output of tubular linear machine with dual Halbach array. Based on the magnetic field model derived in the last chapter and Lorentz force law , the thrusts for single-phase, double-phase, and three-phase tubular linear machines

Mathematical Modeling and Analysis of Force Induced Bone Growth
2006 International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2006Bone is a dynamic living tissue that undergoes continuous adaptation of its mass and structure in response to mechanical and biological environment demands. Studies of bone adaptation have focused on metabolic or mechanical stimulus, but mathematical models of bone adaptation considering both, are not available by now.

Mathematical modelling of direct extrusion force
2002Application of multifactorial experiment in the process of direct extrusion was analysed. The aim was to determine the dependence of direct extrusion force on elements of the processing regime and characteristics of material by good planning of experiment and by application of regression and dispersion analysis.

Mathematical Representations Of Motion And Force
1993Abstract In the previous chapter we began to appreciate the links between mathematics and mechanics. One of the issues I have mentioned concerns the dimensions of physical quantities in relation to Leibnizian differentiation and integration, or to Newton’s fluxions and fluents.

Sales force deployment by mathematical programming
1999The sales force deployment problem is considered which arises in many selling organizations. As a solution a novel mixed-integer formulation is introduced which is specifically characterized by an infinite number of variables. A column generation approach is proposed to obtain upper and lower bounds. The associated subproblem is solved analytically.
