EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

SAM-Guided Attention Maps Fusion for Region Supervised Remote Sensing Image Change Detection

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
In practical applications, pixel-level annotation samples are both time-consuming and labor-intensive, posing a major challenge for large-scale applications.

Foreground Object Detection using Two Successive Images

open access: yes, 2011
[[abstract]]Detecting foreground object often need to face the problems of illumination change and image noise. In this paper, we propose an object detection method using two successive image frames.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Intelligent Flood Fill or: The Use of Edge Detection in Image Object Extraction

open access: yes, 2005
Content-Based Image Retrieval systems can often return poor results when attempting to match images with extraneous feature information such as complex backgrounds, shadows, or frames.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

DomAda-FruitDet: Domain-Adaptive Anchor-Free Fruit Detection Model for Auto Labeling

open access: yesPlant Phenomics
Recently, deep learning-based fruit detection applications have been widely used in the modern fruit industry; however, the training data labeling process remains a time-consuming and labor-intensive process.

Foreground region detection and tracking for fixed cameras [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
For real-time foreground detection on videos, probabilistic modeling for background and foreground colors are widely used. Stauffer and Grimson's model is very successful for foreground segmentation.

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...
