Capturing the Electrical Activity of all Cortical Neurons: Are Solutions Within Reach?

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Despite advancements in implantable electrode technology, challenges persist in scaling up these devices to record most of the neuronal activity across the cortex. This review explores the limitations of both rigid and flexible probes, including tissue damage and foreign body response, while also discussing emerging biohybrid strategies.

Topographical Patterning of Cell‐Repellent Interfaces for Immune‐Stealth Implantable Electronics via Multiphoton Ablation Lithography

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Immune‐stealth implantable electronics are developed using cell‐repellent interfaces created by multiphoton ablation lithography, which is the first research applying topographical cues on electronic devices. Laser‐patterned micro‐grooves and nano‐islands on ultrathin films can reduce immune cell adhesion to as low as 5%.

Development of a DNA Aptamer‐Based Approach to Noninvasively Image CAR‐T Cells In Vivo and Traceless Enrichment In Vitro

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A DNA aptamer (A3) with nanomolar affinity for CAR‐T cells is developed via Cell‐SELEX. In Nalm6 tumor‐bearing mice, Cy5‐labeled A3 enables long‐term fluorescence imaging and tracks the biodistribution of CAR‐T cells, with tumor signal peaking on day 14 after CAR‐T cell administration.

Engineered Anti‐Senescence Trachea With Post‐Transplanted Regenerative Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Bioengineered trachea undergoes post‐transplanted senescence, which is found in this study for the first time. Hebe‐ET is designed with dual anti‐senescence strategies: fiber‐film scaffold in cartilage rings for close‐packed cell interaction, and quercetin‐loaded fibrous rings for immune modulation.
