Determinants of Foreign Direct Investment [PDF]

open access: possibleCanadian Journal of Economics/Revue canadienne d'économique, 2014

We use Bayesian statistical techniques that allow one to select from a large set of candidates those variables most likely to be determinants of FDI activity.

Labor Taxation and Foreign Direct Investment* [PDF]

open access: possibleThe Scandinavian Journal of Economics, 2008
AbstractIn this paper, we analyze the implications of the effective taxation of labor for profits and, hence, the decisions made by multinational enterprises concerning the location of their headquarters. If a higher employee‐borne tax burden reduces manager effort, it should also negatively affect firm profits and the location of the headquarters.
