Simultaneous detection of three hypoxia‐inducible factor stabilizers—molidustat, roxadustat, and vadadustat—in multiple keratinized matrices and its application in a doping context

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, EarlyView.
The authors present a method for the simultaneous identification and quantification of three HIF stabilizers in multiple keratinized matrices, with the first identification of molidustat in hair, beard hair and fingernails in an authentic doping case.

In vitro metabolism study of ADB‐P‐5Br‐INACA and ADB‐4en‐P‐5Br‐INACA using human hepatocytes, liver microsomes, and in‐house synthesized references

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, EarlyView.
Analyzing hepatocytes and liver microsomes samples along with synthesized references. Complete structure elucidation of major metabolites was possible, and biomarkers for both ADB‐P‐5Br‐INACA and ADB‐4en‐P‐5Br‐INACA were suggested. Abstract Synthetic cannabinoids (SCs) remain a major public health concern, as they continuously are linked to severe ...

Toward 3D‐Bioprinted Models of the Liver to Boost Drug Development

open access: yesMacromolecular Bioscience, Volume 22, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
During preclinical studies, bidimensional in vitro models and animal models are synergically exploited to forecast safety and efficacy. 3D‐bioprinting is exploited to produce complex in vitro models, able to mimic physiological and pathological conditions, thus aiming to overcome the conventional paradigm.

Quantitative analysis of nonsteroidal anti‐inflammatory drugs in dried blood spot from mountain ultra‐trail runners. Contribution of pharmacokinetic models for the interpretation of the results

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, EarlyView.
Quantification of 16 nonsteroidal anti‐inflammatory drugs using dried blood spot and LC–MS/HRMS was performed. By using a pharmacokinetic modelling and simulations, and according to the analytical performances of the method, detection windows for ibuprofen in ultra‐trail runners were proposed.
