Digitizing collections to unlock the full potential of palynology: A case study with the Smithsonian palynology collection

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
Large palynological collections have been built over decades and contain vital information. However, they are often difficult to access and use effectively. The European honey buzzard (Pernis apivorus) as an ally for the control of the invasive yellow‐legged hornet (Vespa velutina nigrithorax)

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 81, Issue 4, Page 2237-2247, April 2025.
The predatory effect of the honey‐buzzard affects the reproductive performance of Asian‐hornet colonies, decreasing the density of workers over distance and time. The foraging distances of the honey‐buzzard concentrates within the first 2000 m from nest, which supports the results observed.

Sonified Signals From a Compact FT‐ICR Instrument: A Feasibility Study. I—Data Mapping to an Equal‐Tempered Chromatic Scale

open access: yesRapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Rationale Ions trapped within a Penning cell (ICR) travel periodic orbits whose frequencies are dependent on their mass‐to‐charge ratio and the value of the magnetic field passing through the trap. Fourier transformation (FT‐ICR) decomposes the signal induced in the detection circuit by the rotation of the ions in the cell after the ...
