From Dysplasia to Carcinoma: Expression Patterns of Dermokine, Matriptase, and Tryptase in OPMD

open access: yesOral Diseases, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background The malignant transformation of oral potentially malignant disorders (OPMDs) lacks reliable molecular markers. Dermokine and matriptase are involved in epithelial differentiation and inflammation, while tryptase is associated with the tumor microenvironment, which may contribute to carcinogenesis.

Trends in Pathological Autopsy in Japan From 1958 to 2023

open access: yesPathology International, EarlyView.
Autopsy trends across Japan from 1958 to 2023 were analyzed using all 66 volumes of Annual of the Pathological Autopsy Cases in Japan (Japanese Society of Pathology). The number of annual autopsy cases peaked at 40,680 in 1985, followed by a continuous decline, which was further exacerbated by the COVID‐19 pandemic (6,557 in 2022).

A Pilot Study Using Microbial Glycolipid Signatures to Diagnose Nosocomial Ventriculitis

open access: yesRapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry, Volume 39, Issue 24, 30 December 2025.
ABSTRACT Rationale Ventriculitis is a life‐threatening infectious condition that requires rapid pathogen identification. Conventional diagnostic methods often require 24–48 h of ex vivo culture. The aim of this study was to evaluate a novel MALDI‐TOF MS approach for analyzing glycolipids for species‐level pathogen identification directly from cerebral ...

Molecular Organ Lysate Imprinting: For Precision Recognition and Analysis of Organ‐Derived Proteins

open access: yesRapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry, Volume 39, Issue 23, 15 December 2025.
ABSTRACT Rationale Molecular imprinting has emerged as a promising strategy to create custom imprints for precision recognition of proteins. This study proposes using dopamine polymers as a novel approach to enhance the retrieval of proteins from human plasma.

Early Diagnosis of Acute Kidney Injury in Liver Transplant Patients by an Untargeted Metabolomic Approach

open access: yesAnalytical Science Advances, Volume 6, Issue 2, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Acute kidney injury is a common complication in patients undergoing orthotopic liver transplantation, being associated with increased mortality and prolonged hospitalization. This study aimed to develop a novel analytical strategy for the early diagnosis of acute kidney injury in liver transplant recipients by combining an untargeted ...

Diagnostic Forensic Tools in the Investigation of Electrocution Fatalities: A Case Study

open access: yesAnalytical Science Advances, Volume 6, Issue 2, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Electrocution is a leading cause of occupational fatalities, frequently occurring at voltages typical of household electrical systems (220–250 V). This study presents a comprehensive forensic investigation of a 35‐year‐old labourer's electrocution death in Dubai. The methodology employed included forensic medico‐legal examination, histological
