Data‐Independent Acquisition Mass Spectrometry in Tumor Classification and Cancer Biomarker Research

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
Abstract Cancer treatment is far from optimal also because current classification systems do not reflect the complex molecular status of the tumor and its phenotype in sufficient detail. To construct molecular tumor classifiers, omics tools provide complex molecular data reflecting many aspects from genotype to phenotype.

Ion Activation Methods for Top‐Down Proteomics

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mass spectrometry (MS) has emerged as a premier method used to characterize the sequences of proteins. Top‐down proteomics aims to capture the multiple sources of structural diversity reflected in proteins, such as those that arise from alternative RNA splicing events or the addition of post‐translational modifications. Tandem MS (i.e., MS/MS)

Recent Advances (2023–2025) of Capillary Electrophoresis‐Mass Spectrometry (CE‐MS) for Top‐Down Proteomics

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Top‐down proteomics (TDP) characterizes proteoforms in cells, tissues, and biofluids, in discovery mode and on a global scale, requiring analytical tools with high peak capacity for proteoform separation and high sensitivity for proteoform detection, given the extremely high proteoform complexity and wide proteoform concentration dynamic range.

Recent Advances in Top‐Down Proteomics for Single‐Cell Research

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Individual cells have distinctive molecular characteristics, including biologically relevant proteoforms. Although single‐cell (SC) molecular omics offer unprecedented insights into cellular heterogeneity and function, the characterization of proteoforms in SCs remains an uncharted territory.

Mass Spectrometry Insights Into Post‐Translational Modifications in Extracellular Vesicles

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are membrane‐enclosed structures secreted by virtually all living cells, serving as essential mediators of intercellular communication in both physiological and pathological processes. There is growing interest in their potential applications as biomarkers, therapeutic targets, and drug delivery systems, which ...

Synthesis of Borneol‐Polymers as Fluorescent Sensors for Pollutant Detection

open access: yesMacromolecular Symposia, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In this work, a borneol‐derived monomer was employed to synthesize two novel copolymers, poly(vinyl acetate‐co‐bornyl methacrylate) (CopBM‐1) and poly(p‐acryloyloxybenzaldehyde‐co‐bornyl methacrylate) (CopBM‐2), via radical copolymerization. Both copolymers demonstrated aggregation‐induced emission in DMF at concentrations exceeding 0.04 wt.%.

At‐Home Versus in‐Clinic Vital Capacity Measurement: Insights From the HEALEY ALS Platform Trial

open access: yesMuscle &Nerve, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction/Aims Respiratory weakness, typically monitored as vital capacity (VC), is a central feature of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). VC is increasingly measured remotely in participants' homes, although in‐clinic assessment remains the standard.
