Sex differences in self‐reported attention‐deficit/hyperactivity disorder symptoms in clinical and population‐based cohorts

open access: yesJCPP Advances, EarlyView.
There is an apparent gender paradox in ADHD; the childhood prevalence is higher in males than females but adult females with ADHD are reporting more severe impairment. We found that the relative difference in symptom levels between individuals with and without ADHD was larger in females than males, both in a clinical sample and in the general ...

Proposed Diagnostic Reference Levels for Frequently Performed Paediatric Radiographic Examinations

open access: yesJournal of Medical Radiation Sciences, EarlyView.
Paediatric diagnostic reference levels (DRLs) are weight‐stratified dose levels for typical medical imaging examinations for broadly defined types of equipment. The 75th percentiles of the FRLs across the nine X‐ray units from five centres in Australia were calculated as the proposed Local DRLs (LDRLs).

Dolomite and Mg Calcite as Mineral Thermometers in Mortar Binders. A High Resolution Raman Spectroscopic Study

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, EarlyView.
Raman band characteristics of calcium carbonates from experimentally heated and recarbonated dolomite samples and of carbonate aggregates in a high‐fired gypsum mortar were correlated using high spectral and spatial resolution micro‐Raman. The band parameters of the carbonate minerals correlate to the applied burning temperature, hence allowing a ...

The Stability of Manganese Oxides Under Laser Irradiation During Raman Analyses: II. Layer Structures

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, EarlyView.
Manganese oxides are important geomaterials with diverse technological applications. Here, we investigate the behaviour of the most common Mn oxides with layer structures under irradiation by a 532‐nm laser, with intensity ranging from 23 µW/µm2 to 36.8 mW/µm2.

Improving the Raman Model for Dravite and Schorl Tourmalines by μXANES Analysis of Iron Oxidation States

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, EarlyView.
By integrating μRaman and μXANES techniques, one can acquire insights into the oxidation state of iron in tourmalines from the dravite–schorl series, thereby enhancing the accuracy of the Mg/(Mg + Fe2+) ratio. The observed linear correlations for P2 peak position, P1/P2 relative intensities, and WOH(3) peak position in the Raman spectrum enable the ...

Raman Study of the Slobodka Ordinary Chondrite

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, EarlyView.
The texture and mineral chemistry of Slobodka are most consistent with L4 chondrites, exhibiting strong shock metamorphism characteristic of shock stage S4, including irregular and planar fractures, undulatory extinction, and mosaicism in olivine, pyroxene, and plagioclase.
