Forest management for invertebrate conservation
Insects are a diverse group of terrestrial organisms, countig at least one million of species and undoubtedly the predominantportion of animal biomass, consequently representing an essentialcomponent of every terrestrial environment. They are too oftensimplistically perceived as a simple nuisance or as pests due tothe significant economic damages ...

Shellac, a centuries‐old natural resin, is reimagined as a green material for flexible electronics. When combined with silver nanowires, shellac films deliver transparency, conductivity, and stability against humidity. These results position shellac as a sustainable alternative to synthetic polymers for transparent conductors in next‐generation ...

Machine Learning‐Assisted Inverse Design of Soft and Multifunctional Hybrid Liquid Metal Composites
A machine learning framework is presented for inverse design of synthesizable multifunctional composites containing both liquid metal and solid inclusions. By integrating physics‐based modeling, data‐driven prediction, and Bayesian optimization, the approach enables intelligent design of experiments to identify optimal compositions and realize these ...

Robot Navigation in Forest Management
This paper addresses the problem of using a mobile, autonomous robot to manage a forest whose trees are destined for eventual harvesting. “Manage” in this context means periodical weeding between all the trees in the forest. We have constructed a robotic system enabling an autonomous robot to move between the trees without damaging them and to cut the ...

3D Printing Innovations in Polymeric Porous and Patterned Architecture
Polymeric foams occupy a unique structural space between dense solids and open networks, where engineered void fraction governs mechanical compliance, thermal resistance, and mass transport. Additive manufacturing now enables precise spatial control over cellular architecture, unlocking designer foam structures across applications spanning crash ...

Conformal Metallosaccharide Hybrid Films for Protecting Wood Surfaces From Environmental Damage
Ti‐ribose hybrid films fabricated by molecular layer deposition form a conformal and uniform coating on wood surfaces, which provides water repellence, dimensional stability, and resistance to acidic and alkaline environments, while preserving the natural appearance.
