Aesthetic Perspective of Forest Experience in the Age of Forest Boom
The Korean Society of Culture and Convergence, 2023The purpose of this paper is to explore the issues underlying the forest boom, and to provide insights into the forest understanding based on ecological perspective and corresponding practical activities by providing a aesthetic perspective on forest experience. The core of the research content is as follows.

The emergence of forest age structures as determined by uneven-aged stands and age class forests
Journal of Forest Economics, 2016This article explores the question under which conditions trees are managed in even- or uneven-aged stands or age class forests, respectively. The problem of uneven-aged management within stands and forests can be reduced to the analysis of simultaneous optimal times of harvest and regeneration of interdependently growing trees.

Forest-level analyses of uneven-aged hardwood forests
Canadian Journal of Forest Research, 2008The matrix growth models of maple–beech and maple stands in the uneven-aged mixed species hardwood forests in the Algonquin region of Ontario are specified as a system of simultaneous growth equations with restrictions on the sum of transition probabilities. The specified system of growth equations is estimated using the seemingly unrelated regression

The Coming of Age to Australian Forests
Environment and History, 1998Abstract The concept of 'old-growth' has gained public recognition and political force in Australia where government agencies are engaged in mapping its distribution. Its curious definition has stimulated an examination of how forest age has come to be constructed over the period since the white invasion in 1788.

Spider Assemblages in Costa Rican Cloud Forests: Effects of Forest Level and Forest Age
Studies on Neotropical Fauna and Environment, 2003We investigated spider assemblages in trees at three cloud forest sites and in trees isolated in pasture habitat in Monteverde, Costa Rica. Spiders were collected from two forest types (primary and secondary) within each forest site, and at two different levels (canopy and understory) within forest types and the pasture.

Models for Prediction of Mortality in Even-aged Forest
Scandinavian Journal of Forest Research, 2003Models for predicting mortality in even‐aged stands were developed. The models rely on data from the Norwegian National Forest Inventory, and were designed for use in large‐scale forestry scenario models. A two‐step modelling strategy was applied: (1) logistic regression models predicting the probability of complete survival occurring,” and (2 ...

“Forest–grass” global vegetation model with forest age structure
Ecological Modelling, 2003Abstract In the paper [Ecol. Modell. 124 (1999) 131], a set of “simplest” models of the global vegetation pattern (GVP) was suggested. All these models are based on the simple probabilistic “urn” schemes and their dynamics were sufficiently complex to present nonlinear phenomena such as multiple equilibriums and hysteresis. Although these schemes are

Forest Age and Management Measures Regulate the Responses of Forest Ecosystem to Drought
Global Change BiologyUnder the ongoing intensification of climate change, the response mechanisms of forest ecosystems to drought are significantly influenced by stand‐age dynamics and management practices. There is an urgent need to integrate species‐specific functional traits and management intervention strategies into a resistance–resilience assessment framework to ...

An Analysis of Forest Cutting Age with Consideration of Forest Carbon Sequestration
2011This paper analyzes an optimal forest cutting age for even-aged forest management of Gangwon pines and Korean pines when the carbon sequestration service of a forest is considered. Carbon price and tax will affect the optimal forest cutting age and the carbon storage in forests.
