A scalable dual‐functional strategy yields simultaneously sulfonated and nanosized cellulose for proton exchange membranes with continuous hydrogen‐bond networks. These sustainable membranes exhibit low‐humidity proton conductivity twofold higher than Nafion 212, providing a robust solution for next‐generation fuel cells.

Accurate estimation of forest biomass size and regional distribution is a prerequisite in answering a long‐standing debate on the role of forest vegetation in the regional and global carbon cycle. Appropriate biomass estimation methods and available forest data sources are two key factors for this purpose.

Determination of Forest Biomass
Forest Science, 1968Abstract Attention is drawn to the need for critical assessment of different methods of determining forest biomass using sample trees. Corrected data of forest biomass for a Scots pine plantation which had thinned itself naturally are compared with data for a natural stand of balsam fir.
