Continuous Change Detection and Classification—Spectral Trajectory Breakpoint Recognition for Forest Monitoring

open access: yesLand, 2022
Forest is one of the most important surface coverage types. Monitoring its dynamics is of great significance in global ecological environment monitoring and global carbon circulation research.

DNA methylation and expression of MAPRE3 affect overall survival of early‐stage non‐small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.

Forest Tree Species Classification Based on Sentinel-2 Images and Auxiliary Data

open access: yes, 2022
Most research on forest tree species classification based on optical image data uses information such as spectral reflectance, vegetation index, texture, and phenology data.

Visualisation of Random Forest classification

open access: yesInformation Visualization
Decision Trees (DTs) stand out as a prevalent choice among supervised Machine Learning algorithms. These algorithms form binary structures, effectively dividing data into smaller segments based on distinct rules. Consequently, DTs serve as a learning mechanism to identify optimal rules for the separation and classification of all elements within a ...

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Does Classification-Based Forest Management Promote Forest Restoration? Evidence from China’s Ecological Welfare Forestland Certification Program

open access: yes, 2022
Classification-based forest management (CFM) is generally regarded as an important political means of achieving sustainable forest development. However, in the upsurge of publicly managed forest devolution, the impact of CFM policies on forestland ...

A new approach for mapping forest management areas in Canada

open access: yesThe Forestry Chronicle, 2019
Canada’s forests have frequently been characterized using binary classifications such as intact/non-intact or managed/unmanaged. A more nuanced classification approach is needed to better understand the geography of forest management in Canada.

Random forest explorations for URL classification [PDF]

open access: yes2017 International Conference On Cyber Situational Awareness, Data Analytics And Assessment (Cyber SA), 2017
Phishing is a major concern on the Internet today and many users are falling victim because of criminal’s deceitful tactics. Blacklisting is still the most common defence users have against such phishing websites, but is failing to cope with the increasing number.\ud In recent years, researchers have devised modern ways of detecting such websites using
