Forest management and ecological engineering
2004Forestry is a part of Ecological Engineering, for which it could be an archetype. It has created its own tools for ecosystem installation, steering and renewing, through interventions targeted on specific compartments of these complex ecosystems. It has also promoted a two-levelled adaptive management system: management plans and silviculture.

Forest operation engineering and management for sustainable use of mountain forests
2014Forests cover a signifi cant proportion of mountain regions around the world, except those that are particularly dry or cold yearround. In Europe, for instance, forests cover 41% of the total mountain area and are the prevalent land cover except in the mountains that extend into the Arctic regions.
