Will genomics guide a greener forest biotech?
Trends in Plant Science, 2007Forest biotechnology has been increasingly associated with wood production using plantation forestry, and has stressed applications that use pedigreed material and transgenic trees. Reasons for this emphasis include limitations of available technologies to conform to underlying genetic features of undomesticated forest tree populations.

[Progress in research on forest tree genomics].
Zhi wu sheng li yu fen zi sheng wu xue xue bao = Journal of plant physiology and molecular biology, 2009This is a review on forest tree genomics. In structural genomics, genetic maps have been constructed for up to 40 forest tree species, more than 30 commercially important QTLs have been detected, comparative mapping has been done for a few of forest tree taxa, and whole genome sequencing was completed for Populus and is under way for Eucalyptus.

Accelerated forest genetic breeding using genomic selection
2017Chilean forest industry should not pursue development without incorporating advances from current biotechnology and genomics tools. Traditional forest breeding programs have been founded in phenotypic selection based on field testing which is time consuming, and where the prediction of breeding values is subjected to the influence of the environment ...
