Rational Forest Productivity Decline
Environmental Monitoring and Assessment, 2003A whole forest optimisation model was employed to examine economic behaviour as it relates to long term, forest productivity decline in the boreal forests of Ontario, Canada. Our productivity investment model (PIM) incorporated a choice between productivity decline as represented by a drop in forest Site Class, and a fee to 'maintain' site productivity.

Rationale for Forest Energy Production
2005The strategy of bioenergy programs is to assist participants in expanding the use of economical, environmentally-sound bioenergy technologies. IEA Bioenergy was set up to facilitate, coordinate and maintain bioenergy research, development and demonstration through international cooperation and information exchange.

A model of carbon storage in forests and forest products
Tree Physiology, 1990This paper discusses the general formulation of a model that describes carbon storage in a forest and its timber products as a function of the forest growth curve, the rotation period and the carbon retention curves for the timber products. After a number of rotations, the rotation-averaged quantity of stored carbon approaches an asymptotic value.

The Forest Products Research Laboratory
Proceedings of the Royal Society of London. Series A. Mathematical and Physical Sciences, 1953Abstract When we speak of forest products we include not only the timber from the trees, but also such other products as derive from the bark, the leaves, or the roots. In this address, however, I shall be dealing almost exclusively with timber and its derived products.

Carbon Credits for Forests and Forest Products [PDF]
It is possible to make a current valuation of the effects of carbon dioxide which tracks a valuation done under the metric of expected present value and also tracks realized values. The implementation of a carbon credit scheme based on green accounting could go as follows: 1) At dates strictly between planned harvests, impute a credit of the value of ...
