Improving drainage conditions of forest roads using the GIS and forest road simulator [PDF]
In this study a new method of locating culverts is presented with the composition of achieved discharge from hydrological analysis and simulated forest roads in RoadEng 3D simulator to improve drainage condition. Locating culverts was performed on a small scale (1:20 000, using GIS) and large scale (1:2 000, road geometric design simulator).

Rerouting a major Indonesian mining road to spare nature and reduce development costs
Road‐infrastructure projects are expanding rapidly worldwide while penetrating into previously undisturbed forests. In Sumatra, Indonesia, a planned 88‐km‐long mining road for transporting coal would imperil the Harapan Forest, the island's largest ...

Predicting the deterioration of the forest road network by employing the Markov chain (Case study: Forest road in the western part of Haraz) [PDF]
Forest road networks play an important role to achieve management goals in forest ecosystems and despite of implementation of the forest logging ban, their protection and maintenance cannot be stopped.

Wood in the Construction of Forest Roads on Poor-bearing Road Subgrades [PDF]
The use of wood for road construction in biologically valuable areas seems to be a good alternative to solutions based on less ecologically-friendly materials. The key issue is the durability of the wood in specific conditions of use, i.e., in the substrate of the actual road.
