On structured gate forest VLSI design
Microprocessing and Microprogramming, 1989Abstract The opportunities for structured VLSI design on a Sea-of-Gates template are discussed. From a critique on the use of standard cells, the Gate Forest approach for testable module compilation is introduced. With suitable tooling architectured in an open CAD environment, this allows for almost Full Custom layout efficiency.

The structure of the forest landscape - a potential determinant of forest fires?
2023Forest fires in Poland are a serious disturbance of forest ecosystems, generating large natural, social and economic losses. For this reason, it is very important to identify and quantify the factors that may affect the occurrence of fires in the forest environment. In this paper, it was hypothesized that the structure of the forest landscape ...

Presettlement forest structure as a factor in urban forest development
Urban Ecology, 1986Abstract Characteristics of presettlement forests at Menlo Park and South Lake Tahoe, CA were compared with the present characteristics of the urban forests in these cities. Urbanization of forest types in both cities led to decreased tree density (in Menlo Park from 279 to 43/ha; in South Lake Tahoe from 761 to 373/ha), decreased tree cover (in ...

Quality Meshing of a Forest of Branching Structures
2008Neurons are cellular compartments possessing branching morphologies, with information processing functionality, and the ability to communicate with each other via synaptic junctions (e.g. neurons come within less than a nano-meter of each other in a specialized way).

Assessment of forests structure and forest care efficiency
2017The search of the most acceptable approaches is carried out in assessment of forests care efficiency. The system from 17 indicators and the equations for result calculation of young growths care, thinning out, re-form, reconstructive cuttings, forest protection and other actions is proposed.

The choice of native species used in the management of agroforestry systems for the recovery of anthropized environments, are fundamental for maintaining biodiversity and ecological processes. In this study, we evaluated the structural complexity and diversity of plants in a teak agroforestry, compared to a native forest tangent to the planted area ...

Evaporation partitioning of forest stands: The role of forest structure
2020Forest evaporation (Ei) is considered the main source of water vapor at a continental scale. Its quantification has been carried out in many ecosystems worldwide, applying the classical partitioning method to differentiate among sources of water vapor. This partitioning differentiates between transpiration (Et), soil evaporation (Es), water intercepted
