Intergenerational Succession on Family Farms: Evidence from Survey Data [PDF]

open access: yes
This study examines family farms and characteristics affecting farm succession. Based on a farm survey, three aspects of succession are analysed in the paper: the probability of family succession; the likelihood of having a successor designated; and the ...

Nuclear Pore Mechanotransduction in Oncology: A Structural Axis of Vulnerability for Targeted Intervention

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Cancer‐associated NPC remodeling creates a high‐flux, low‐stringency nuclear state that supports malignant adaptation but increases mechanical fragility. Targeting the FG‐barrier or NPC scaffold may drive mechanostat failure, envelope rupture, DNA damage, and loss of nuclear integrity.

Forest and forest succession in Hong Kong, China

open access: yes, 2007
Hong Kong is on the northern margin of the Asian tropics. The original forest cover was cleared centuries ago but secondary forest has developed since 1945 at many sites protected from fire and cutting. There are also older forest patches maintained behind villages for reasons of 'feng shui', the Chinese system of geomancy.

Inverse Design of Nanoparticulate Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Inverse design shifts nanomaterial development from empirical trial‐and‐error to predictive model‐driven strategies. It can rely on knowledge‐based, data‐based, or hybrid process and property functions. This perspective article provides a practical framework for applying inverse design based on instructive examples. It discusses which modeling approach

Tamper‐Responsive Physical Unclonable Functions via Graphene‐Interlayered Block Copolymer Random Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Self‐invalidating multilayer physical unclonable functions (PUFs) integrate fingerprint‐like metal nanopattern bilayers from block copolymer templates with highly reactive reduced graphene oxide (rGO) interlayers. This tamper‐responsive architecture blocks all unauthorized physical and chemical replication attempts while autonomously deactivating ...
