Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Canopy structural modeling using object-oriented image classification and laser scanning
A terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) experiment was carried out in the EAGLE 2006 campaign to characterize and model the canopy structure of the Speulderbos forest. Semi-variogram analysis was used to describe spatial variability of the surface.

Homotopy types of independence complexes of forests
Ehrenborg and Hetyei proved that the independence complex of an arbitrary forest is either contractible or homotopy equivalent to a sphere. The present paper provides an inductive method of detecting the contractibility of the complex or the dimension of the sphere to which the complex is homotopy equivalent.

Scandium (Sc)‐doped AlCoCrFeMo HEA coatings are fabricated via flame spraying with 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 wt% Sc additions. Among these, the HEA‐Sc0.3 coating exhibits the highest corrosion resistance, indicated by a more positive corrosion potential and lower current density.

Global pattern of leaf litter nitrogen and phosphorus in woody plants [PDF]
Forest ecosystems exert an important influence on global biogeochemical cycles. A global dataset of nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) concentrations in leaf- litter of woody plants was compiled from the literature.

Floristic diversity of midforest lakes (Sobibór Landscape Park, Poland)
Aquatic vegetation greatly impacts lake functions. Forest ecosystems surrounding lakes are effective protection zone of lakes and their associated flora and fauna. The presence of aquatic plants depends on many factors, including the chemical composition

Experimental Characterization of Mycelium‐Based Composites Under Multiple Loading Conditions
This study examines the mechanical response of mycelium‐based composites under compression, shear, and tension using mechanical testing and imaging methods. The comparison between unpressed and hot‐pressed specimens shows that hot pressing is associated with higher compression and shear stiffnesses.

This article presents an experimental and numerical modal investigation of composite sandwich structures using surfboards as model systems. By comparing different core materials and reinforcement strategies, the study demonstrates how local stiffeners influence vibrational response and introduce characteristic modal features, highlighting modal ...
