Journal of Forestry, 1982Abstract From dependence on its native forests. Chile has moved rapidly to reliance on timber from industrial plantations of exotics, chiefly Pinus radiata. In 1980 total consumption of wood by industries was 10.7 million cubic meters, of which 4.6 million went to sawmills and 3.1 to pulp and paper plants.

Private Forestry, Community Forestry, or Socialistic Forestry for Forest Transition?
